ZULULAND CULTURE / WILDLIFE
Duration: 3 days/ 2 nights
Day 1: We drive to Zululand,
passing sugar cane fields and forest plantations. At Mtubatuba,
we visit a Zulu kraal. Here you will experience the traditional
Zulu life of: beer brewing, spear making, hut building,
pottery, weaving and traditional dress. The layout of and
social structure of a kraal is also explained and there
is a lot of singing and tribal dancing. A Zulu meal served
in the boma. Afternoon game viewing in Hluhluwe-Umfolozi
Game Reserve, famous for its bird life and animals such
as the white rhino. Dinner and an overnight stay are at
the Hilltop camp, which is located high up on the edge of
a steep forested slope. There is a great view of the Game
Reserve from here.
Day 2: Full day game viewing
with a picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight is at the camp.
Day 3: After breakfast at the
camp we travel to St Lucia. After lunch, there is a boat
trip on the estuary, where you see Nile crocodile, hippo
and many different bird types.
